No audio over HDMI to AV receiver

Hi there, I've hooked up my RasPlex to my AV receiver (Sony STR-DG910) but am not getting any sound sent over HDMI to the receiver.  I've tried a few things:

  • The sound works fine if I connect it directly to the TV.
  • Other devices connected to the receiver over HDMI work just fine.
  • I've tried changing HDMI audio settings on RasPlex - it's set to output over HDMI and changing the number of channels / AC3 and DTS compatibility, to no avail.
  • I've tried disabling CEC - doesn't help either.
  • I've tried on both 0.3.1 and 9.9.19 - same problem.

Any ideas?  Does RasPlex generally tend to have compatibility issues with HDMI?

Just realised I double-posted this thread - sorry about that.

This one's doubly-annoying for me at the moment: the sound is just going through the TV speakers so no surround, and RasPlex can't keep up with 1080p videos with DTS audio (whereas it seems fine with AC3 audio, so I suspect it's the DTS software decoding that's causing the trouble).

While log files would be useful to post?  Plex log files, or some system ones?

Still no luck I'm afraid.  I've tried the main Pi forums here: http://www.raspberrypi.org/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=68506&p=499644 but no response.

I've grabbed some tvservice output which suggests to me that everything looks fine:

RasPlex:~ # tvservice -s
state 0x12001a [HDMI CEA (31) RGB lim 16:9], 1920x1080 @ 50Hz, progressive
RasPlex:~ # tvservice -a
