No authentication= no longer working

Downloaded from GitHub to try out. It appears that Serenity will no longer work due to latest version of PMS requiring MyPlex login/authentication if PMS is logged into MyPlex.

If you have your server not signed into My Plex it will work, You can also specify particular IP Addresses to not require authentication.

See: https://github.com/NineWorlds/serenity-android/wiki/MyPlex

I also have the following issue open to add support for the authentication and My Plex signin.

@kingargyle:
So is there any progress yet on a Serenity version with authentication capability ?

Remember that there are several opensource projects available that already have it working, so you should be able to pick up some tips from those sources to aid in your own development.
(I’m here mainly thinking of OpenPHT and the Kodi addons PlexBMC and PlexKodiConnect.)

@dlanor sorry for the long delay. The Authentication support is still in progress. I’m in a pretty big rewrite and upgrade of many of the libraries I used in the application. I have some code that was partially implemented by another developer.

That work is being tracked here and is scheduled for the 2.0.0 release later this year:

I’m trying to carve out as much time as I can on this. Since I’m not working full time on an Android project any more as part of the day job, working on this stuff now is more a priority to keep the skill set up.
