I’ve created a smart collection (rules are "Title Contains “John Doe”) and manually added the poster and background.
Now if I open the collection on my Apple TV it does not show the background. I’ve removed collections and re-added them but no luck.
Poster and background are working fine on Plex Web and the latest Plex for Mac.
After trying to grab the logs via http;//IP-of-Apple-TV:32500/, I receive the following error message.
HTTP Error 504: Error accessing Plex Media Server
[NSURLErrorDomain] Verbindung zum Server konnte nicht hergestellt werden. (-1004)
Server Version#: 1.27.1.5916
Player Version#: 8.4 (2828)
I can see that too – though to be fair, the tvOS version isn’t showing any collection backgrounds from smart or regular collections. That’s in line with the behavior of the iOS version.
Not saying I wouldn’t appreciate those backgrounds or some kind of integration into the modern layout…
As for your issue accessing the client logs…
Link should be http://IP-of-Apple-TV:32500/logging → : instead of ;; + logging path
Sorry, it was a typo. I’ve tried again with now works (I was using a expired internal IP). My bad!
I’m not sure if they were background icons on iOS but I’m 99% sure that they’ve existed on tvOS. So there’s the old tech question: is it a bug or a feature?
I’ve added the logs, maybe this helps. Thank you!
