When browsing my music collection in a folder heirarchy, there doesn’t seem to be an option to show a list view after the root folder and it always displays a grid view (screenshot attached). This means I cannot easily read the contents of subfolders. Am I missing something or does the app just not do this? It seriously cripples the functionality when using a device with a smaller screen.
One temporary workaround is to use the Plex web app in a browser but it seems a shame to have to do this due to shortcomings in the dedicated app.
I think the Folder view was conceived as sort of a ‘last resort’ view, for users having trouble using the full-fledged ‘artist’ or ‘album’ views. There are a few features it doesn’t have.
In the past I have posted queries about this, too. Don’t remember how far back. They are unresponsive to what seems like a simple request. I had to reformat my drive a year back and am just getting around to reinstalling the server in hopes that they had finally added that one little feature (list view, all the way down, when browsing by folder).
In the past I was able to use BubbleUPnP to stream from the server but now it doesn’t seem to recognize the Plex server.
Any one have recommendations for other android players to try in place of the Plex android app?
