Similar problem here: Previous app version (version 8.38.1 (8966)) works just fine but no HDR10+ playback on latest AppleTV after update to app version 8.39 (9244).

Another vote here. Don’t understand why Plex client lagging behind in terms of audio/video support when comparing to Infuse.

Agreed I got the new ATV just for it and still can’t enjoy this feature. With owning a Samsung tv that doesn’t do Dolby atmos, I was hoping to have dynamic hdr by now ugh

What about the new player beta — has anything changed there? It seems to play HDR content without stuttering, but my tv doesn’t support HDR10+.

Truly shocking - using Infuse shouldn’t be the solution for Atmos.

I can see on a post re: passthrough audio potentially getting supported in tvOS26 that @Craig_Holliday said

If Apple does provide support for passthrough then yes we will be implementing it

I wonder if you can chime in and let is know if HDR10+ support is being implemented at all? Or is it not even being considered? It would just be nice to know its at least on the radar or not.

Wouldn’t hold my breath.

Apple already support HDR10+ and DV but Plex doesn’t support HDR10+ and limited DV support.

And Atmos.
HDR10+, DV, and Atmos API were added years and years ago by Apple with still no support or broken support.

Infuse added Atmos support back in 2020 using API Apple baked in. 5 years on nothing from the Plex app other than coming sometime.

Plex app = basic functionality.
If you want advanced proprietary stuff like Dolby. Look to Infuse.

That’s what I use. Dislike the Infuse interface, but at least it plays correctly. The Plex app on a Firestick plays HDR10+ and DV properly (don’t know about Atmos) so they can do it, but choose not to.
