No Live TV on Nvidia shield, but DVR and native HDHomeRun app work perfectly?

As additional info, I’ve got an nvidia quandro p2000 installed and hardware transcodes work correctly for dozens of clients.

I’ve been using Plex DVR with my hdhomerun dual hd tuner for years, works great. Recently ( like in the last couple of months ), plex will dvr no problem, but when I try and watch live tv on the plex app, it just shows a spinning circle like it’s loading then nothing happens after a min or two it goes back to the guide.
Using the native HDhomerun app on the same device, works perfectly.

So why would the Plex dvr function record things fine but no live tv???

My server works perfectly in all other aspects.

Any help would be appreciated. This is very frustrating…

Have you tried the “Convert Automatically” on the Shield?

I occasionally have this problem when playing high bit rate files and this solution pushes the problem back to the server before streaming it out.

Thank you so much!! That did the trick… Works perfectly now. Crazy thing is, why? Why do I have to choose that every time I want to start live tv? That’s a bug for sure. Once choosing that setting I was hopeful it would stick, but it doesn’t I have to choose it each and every time.

But hey, at least it works now.
