No longer able to restrict content to other users

Player Version#: not sure but issue exists in web version, android tv, and android mobile

I am having an issue with restricting content. since I’ve had my Plex Pass (several years) I have restricted content for my kids’ profiles. Recently, possibly after the last update, the player shows all content, including ones that I have restricted. The restrictions are still in place and the content still shows the correct rating. I also checked my subcription. it is current. Please help.

Verify that the player has been switched to your kid’s user account.

I assume the kid’s device is in the same local network as your server?
If that is the case, they may also get full access if you have put your whole subnet into “List of IP addresses and networks that are allowed without auth”.

I did that just recently so that if the internet went out, it wouldnt need to authenticate while on the same network as the server. Dang. ok. thanks for the info. I’ll be removing that.

You could restrict it to just a few IP addresses instead.
Namely those, to which only you have access (or which are under your supervision).
