Content restrictions for unauthenticated access

Is there a way to specific content restrictions for unauthenticated access?

A bit of background, I enabled unauthenticated access for my home subnet after an internet outage, which let us continue to use Plex. I’ve kept this setting on.

I have a managed account that is used for child access, which has content restrictions in place, and works well.

I noticed a device was logged out recently, possibly due to an Plex client update, and the client was allowed to login in unauthenticated.

This Is what I had expected to happen, but then realised it defaulted to providing all content - which makes sense as the client wouldn’t know what restrictions to put I place.

So, is it possible to restrict unauthenticated access? I would like to keep this on, but have it only allow child appropriate content until logged back in.

No authentication = no restrictions

Blunt, but ok….

Perhaps a feature request?

It’s two contradicting concepts… if you configure your server to not require an authentication inside your home network, how can it know what restrictions to apply?

Why wouldn’t it? A default / unauthenticated security profile.

The concepts are sound and viable, but I appreciate the amount of effort required may dictate if this is feasible.

One for the devs, but hopefully something worth considering.

The unauthenticated profile has helped me in the past with an internet outage, but I have realised the child profile can now be bypassed with a simple logout.
