For what it’s worth, I’ve been able to get mine to leave an XML file beside the media file as well. The comskip, ini parameter was actually output_dvrmstb, not the one I mentioned earlier. That alone didn’t affect commercial markers being written to the database though, so there may have been something else going on with yours (such as output_edl being set to 0).
It doesn’t seem to matter anymore because I just put the stock one on the proper folder. Still not scanning all of them though.
No answers from the devs on why I can’t start analyze from the CLI, however I started to reverse engineer the GUI, I was able to get one to scan using a URL.
Hopefully, with more research, I can get it started where I want to, when I want to.
Also, it looks as if Storage Wars recorded 3m and another one at 21s.
I am giving up.
Not only do the commercials not scan, I have recorded 6 or more TV shows today and they have all been incomplete.
Plex Media Scanner is very chaotic. It knows there are chapters in a show, it has been told to download the chapter thumbnails, but it skips them. The command line tool is useless.
I’ll use another DVR and watch the shows in Plex. Plex is the best in the business for the aesthetics of a DVR…
It looks like The board of directors at Plex decided to halt development because every time I’ve used it, it looks the same and had the exact same errors
Plex TV seems very beta like, still.
Go into the DVR Recordings on a Android mobile phone, the screen mapping is all messed up, there are play buttons on top of the currently recording circle with red in the middle. Shows appear and disappear, it’s a clusterfuck.
I was one of the first people to use Plex DVR, it looked the exact same with those errors today as it did in the beginning.
The fact that this thread will go unanswered for 3 months is disturbing enough. There are serious issues and they don’t seem to care.
I responded to you via PM. It looks like comskip is running. In some cases it found commercials, in some it didn’t. Can you send me the XML for the episode I mentioned via PM to see if the markers got added to the file info.
I didn’t answer this before. The analyze button in the UI does a bunch of stuff (like a script) while the command line is 1 specific task. If you look at the logs you can see the separate commands it runs. If you want to reproduce that, you have to run each command just like a script.
