No response from Plex Devs!?

Is anyone else not getting responses from Plex devs? I have several recent posts with no response. There are several major issues across the Plex ecosystem that I am experiencing and I yet to get a response to any of them. I am a Plex Pass member and i am pretty much dead in the water.

What OS?
Do you have the links?
If they’re Linux or Synology (my support area) I should have seen them if posted in those forums.

Sorry you are having issues but I’m sure if a Dev saw your post and was able to assist they would. I can’t imagine the crap they must go through maintaining Plex. Please be patient with them. I think the dev’s are overwhelm.

The devs don’t always respond, especially if it something that may take a lot of time to diagnose. That’s what Ninja’s like Chuck and support staff like myself are for. Once we can narrow down the issue, we can let the devs know.

Unfortunately we can’t get to every post. We try. If you haven’t gotten a response after a few days, give it a bump or provide a link here to get our attention.

When you abuse the forums and those trying to help you the way you have in the past you are less likely to get a response.

Your post history is a collection of rants, accusations, abuse, and rudeness. When someone does provide help or a response to one of your posts you then have a tendency to not provide any feedback and start yet another thread.

A little politeness and patience will go a long way. People are actually eager to help those who need it.

ChuckPa: Thank you for your response. I did post this and my original issue under the Windows Phone support area. I am running Windows 10 Phone build 14965 on a Lumia 950 XL. Just did a full factory reset and I still have the same issue. All other apps install just fine, Plex not so much.

MovieFan.Plex: Well the fact that I cannot use your product should be enough to warrant a response. I am not pushing on the other issues that I have on other platforms as they are not much of a concern. At least to me.

David Synder: Fair enough, but I am asking nicely about this issue. Now one could judge what one considers nice and this is of curse a running variable. It depends on the amount of issues one is having, the lack of response or resolution to their issues, and the duration of ones patience. So if you care to judge based on my past historical behavior then one should concluded this to be fairly nice.

We can’t monitor every post. There just isn’t enough of us around. I’m not saying we didn’t provide a response because we had nothing to say, but that we probably didn’t see it. Hence a little nudge can help.

Let’s try this from the starting point, shall we?

What type of hardware are you running PMS on? (MAC? PC? NAS?) And what version number is the OS you are using? (And don’t say latest, as that could be relative to what?)

Next, do you have any log files from the server during the time frame you are having your issues? How about device logs from the connecting device that fails to connect? Are you able to get to the Web App on any device at all? (Even within the PMS machine itself?)

Now, let’s look at the device itself… What make, model, and OS is it running? Which version of the Plex Client app is it running? (Don’t say latest, again, relative to what?) Exactly what issues are you experiencing with this device?

I get it you are having problems. Ok, that’s what these forums are for, trying to resolve those problems. BUT, in order for ANYONE to help you, you have to provide them with the information they need to troubleshoot your issues. Without that information it’s a crap shoot at best, and at worst, you are going to get told to box up your computers, take them back where you got them and get your money back… Help the guys here help you. Give them more information than what you have provided so far.

And FYI, the Plex Devs generally don’t come to the forums unless they are asked to take a peak at something by a Ninja or @MovieFan.Plex or @sa2000. I would HOPE they got other things to be doing, like Feature Requests…

MovieFan.Plex: Thought being a PlexPAss member would have given my some sort of priority. I guess I was wrong. No worries. I can admit to being wrong.

**MikeG6.5: **I think I already covered that in my other post. This one is to nudge/bump the Plex devs for a response.

I hate to laugh (I did a little, sorry) but you do get one small perk, a section dedicated to PlexPass members.

@NewPlaza
I agree with you. Give these devs a break… I am sure they are always inundated with bugs and the like.

This is especially true because it seems to me The Plex SDLC Methodology is pretty screwy.

All Plex Pass seems to really get us is being “Paying Beta Testers”… LOL

But… It is What It Is!!!

I do respect and appreciate the knowledge and assistance I have gotten from the Plex Team and many members of this Forum

Thanks to all!!!

Yeah, It is nice to have a place where one can be ignored by the best. It raises me so far above the unwashed masses that I can feel superior to almost everyone. Except, of course, my dog. He can humble anyone faster than my ex-wife could spend money.

LOL
Toooo Funny!!

Plex Pass Section of forums = Plex Pass Club.
1st rule of Plex Pass Club - There is no Plex Pass Club.
2nd rule of Plex Pass Club - We do not talk about Plex Pass Club.

LOL
The Plex Team has spoken…
Not sure I get the above image’s joke

But It seems to me the message is pretty clear.

Frankly, if i post logs, with clear exceptions thrown by your code in them, i expect at least an acknowledgement. I pay you guys to support you, but i get zero love back, even when i try to actively help you do your job.

I am seriously considering stopping the paying thing, because it feels like i’m just throwing euros into a black hole.

Edit: By little nudge, do you mean i should just keep bumping my thread with the logs daily and pray to the gods?

@PlexDevs

I have seen this sort of thing happen before to companies that create a great product but lack of proper development practices and customer centric policies kill them.

I am seeing all those signs starting here in Plex.

In business I learned PAYING customers come first and the Customer is ALWAYS right.

Seems us little guys that pay for Plex are sorta left in the lurch.

Again… Please tell me what Plex Pass REALLY gives us except being able to get BETA releases??
Is that really an advantage??

-nevermind

For me the problem is that plex pass offers advantages that do not always work, they say, pay a fee and have this advantage, but when that advantage does not work, we do not have good support, just people trying to explain something, but never With a concrete solution.

It is not a question of criticizing it is a question of offering a benefit in exchange for a value, that this benefit is functional.

It may show flaws, but it does not work and not having a solution in months is a little too much.

Yes. But it is absurd! There is absolutely no reason to not talk about the Plex Pass forums. I actually find it offensive that people equate a Plex Pass with an exclusive, secretive and violent club.

The Plex Pass forums are there and if information gets posted there that I believe people in general should know then I will copy and paste it to a location where everyone can see it.

As near as I can tell the only reason for the existence of the special Plex Pass forums is to discuss features that only become active to the owners of a Plex Pass. That is NOT secret nor should it be. Plex wants revenue and Plex Passes are a revenue source.

I actually believe that the Plex Pass forums should be opened for reading to everyone but only Plex Pass holders should be able to post there. Hiding the content of those forums from all Plex users is just stupid and a sign of excessive paranoia. If regular users could know what is happening in many of the Plex Pass forums I believe it would drive at least a small increase in the number of people having a Plex Pass.

But I have never seen any issue when even Plex employees have posted content copied from the Plex Pass forums to the regular forums so I do not think it is truly a problem.

EDIT: Looking at this thread again I see that those that equated the Plex Pass forums to “Fight Club” have no real direct connection to Plex. So I apologize to the Plex team. However what I said about the need to open up the Plex Pass forums for reading still stands. There is no good reason to hide them at all.
