No streaming services for Discover in St Kitts and Nevis

Am trying to add any streaming service to the Discover function, however according to Plex or watch now nothing seems to be available here. That how ever is completely false, Netflix and Prime have been available here for at least 10 years, Disney and the others are also available here, yet nothing shows.

I actually have an active Netflix and Prime subscription that I use in the same physical location and on the same devices as Plex.

No VPN in action, as it really shouldn’t be needed

Plex relies on something like JustWatch.com to list available streaming services and that site is missing a number of countries; notably, Bermuda is the only Caribbean country for which there is data. (Plex may not exactly use JustWatch – I suspect they do, but I don’t want to speak out of turn, I’ll just note they have to get the data from somewhere and that’s a place you can get data and that place doesn’t have data for the Caribbean).

There has been no effort to fix this since they started making the feature available years ago. There has also been no effort to change the user-facing text to note this, for example by telling people in unsupported countries that the feature is unsupported rather than gaslighting people that no streaming service exists in the country.

At least it is possible to turn off Discover now; it wasn’t when the feature was launched.

I’m sympathetic because running these kinds of data aggregation features is incredibly difficult to do well, but on the other hand I’m not very sympathetic because not a single human being on the entire face of the earth asked them to half-ass running these features and they chose to anyway. Oh well.
