hi all, I have a Chromecast HD, when casting from PLEX (or VLC) there is no surround sound, only stereo. I’m using a Denon AVR-S650H.
However when using the Amazon Prime App included in the Chromecast it produces surround. I’m sure this worked in the past…
Do you have any idea how to fix it please?
update: I tried with a chromecast older generation V3 and it works… any idea why the chromecast TV would not work transmit surround indication to the Denon?

Is it connected directly to the Denon or does it passthrough the TV? If connected to the TV, try connecting it to an HDMI input on the Denon.
Can you use the Plex Android TV app on the device (no casting)? If so, do you get surround sound? Be sure to set Passthrough = HDMI in the Plex app settings.

You mean we can install a PLEX app on the chromecast itself?
I use the PLEX app on iphone to connect my PC to Chromecast with PLEX.

AFAIK, if it is a Chromecast with Google TV and has the Google Play Store, then you can install the Plex Android TV app just like you would Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.
