I run a plex server on a Synology 220+ NAS and stream the content on a Google Chromecast connected to my Sony receiver and Samsung TV.
As of a couple weeks ago I have noticed that all of the TV shows in my library that used to play in 5.1 surround sound only play in stereo now. This is strange because all of my movies still play in surround sound, so it’s not an audio settings issue. All of the files in my TV Shows folder come up as being surround sound files but aren’t playing as such.
Not sure if anyone else is having this issue or not. Any suggestions?
UPDATE:
It appears to be a Chromecast Plex player app issue.
When I use Plex on my phone and cast to my Chromecast the shows play in 5.1.
