In the LiveTV and DVR FAQ there is a list of the supported players. If you have an older Samsung I suspect you’re going to be out of luck.
I have an older Samsung TV with Plex on it, but the TV is in a room with no antenna connection, I went for a HD homerun thinking that it would be easier than getting an electrician in to wire an antenna socket in only to find the same thing you found.
A FireTV Stick was my solution, much nicer Plex interface as a bonus.
Its the App, I literally dealt with this this last weekend. Hooked up an Nvidia Shield. Funny my crappy TCL TV has the new plex app and the guide looks great but on this series 6 Samsung there is no guide to speak off.
Your going to have to buy a new TV or buy a client that runs Android TV or some such like the Nvidia sheild and install the Plex app on that. You get the full guide and its AWESOME!
I am dumping all out xFinity gear because I hate them. I have an HDHomerun Prime and use Plex on all the TV’s to watch anything including live TV. Saved us about $120 a month. Next addition for me will be a second HDhomerun. Prime.
I service 2 Adults and 2 Kids across 6 TV’s and a Ubiquity Unifi Wireless network. It’s flawless.

Hi, Is it the plex app or the samsung tv software? curious as it works on a newer samsung if im correct. Will plex sort this?
Its the Samsung App mate, not a Plex issue per sae’. Nothing you can do about it in the near term except buy and addon device, you can get them as low at $30 but if you can get a Shield, they open up a bunch of possibilities for you.
