as to echo most of the sentiments expressed in this thread. This seems like an incredibly poor solution to the problem. punishing a large swath of customers with this sledgehammer approach.
Those that are abusing the service will simply move somewhere else and Plex will just end up playing whack-a-mole blocking access to more hosting companies.
For the rest of us who host remotely due to low upload speeds from home and high energy costs are just out of luck
I only share with a few friends, I have limited upload speed at home, do not want to keep a server running 24/7 when I could use my dedicated server which is already on 24/7
we suggest that you consider alternative hosting options
Would you care to provide us with a list of hosting providers that we could use… that will not get blocked in the future… I somewhat doubt it.
There must be a better way… can Plex not just target the ip addresses of those servers that are violating the TOS rather than a blanket ban on a large hosting company.
This change will just end forcing some long time plex users (myself included) away from Plex. and do no favors to your reputation, and I doubt will actually solve the problem…
