Not available outside your network
Your server is signed in to Plex, but is not reachable from outside your network
I’ve tried reading the troubleshooting guides but I dont know what to do.
My router seems happy. It set itself automatically.
CanYouSeeMe.org
Says: Success: I can see your service on…(my IP with my Port)
I have Version 1.18.3.2156 of Plex.
I have Windows 10 with Windows Defender as Firewall.
I tried turning off my firewall. No difference.
If you connect directly from the outside through https://[ip]:[port]/web, what do you see?
Im using chrome and it says something along the lines of that the site isnt secure.
“Your connection to this site is not secure”
NET::ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID
If I try to move forward anyway and ignore the warning the page just keeps spinning.
(edit)
From reading that. Am I to understand that the SSL certificate is not working?
I went to Plex network settings and changed “Secure connections” from “required” --> preferred" and then it works.
But that is not optimal. So how do I fix it?
The certificate warning is normal. Plex issues a certificate for access over the *.plex.direct domain, but if you bypass that with a direct ip address, there’s obviously no domain validation anymore. This is just for testing.
Good to see that it works directly - at least you know Plex Media Server runs fine, and it’s not your connection either. Perhaps a DNS problem (ie, Plex’s plex.direct address doesn’t resolve to your IP address) ? Maybe change your client’s DNS settings to use Google’s or Cloudflare’s?
