Notification mails sent to wrong/old mail address

I’ve changed my mail address a few months ago but notification mails still target the old mail address.

What kind of notification?
As far as I can see, both your Plex account and this forum here have been set to use the domain name that starts with an i.

Notifications of subscribed topics. The domain with an i would be correct and I received a notification about your reply to that domain.
So my impression is that changing the address doesn’t propagate to old subscription objects?

Have you been using a different plex.tv account in the past, which was connected to a different mail account?
Maybe a second account was inadvertently created for you, when you chose to login via Facebook, Google, or Apple ID ?

Actually, if the mails have been sent to the exact same old email address of your plex account, your assumption might be true.
When did these notification arrive, or more precisely: when where the posts made which triggered these notifications?

I might have used Google many years ago but for the past +5 years I’ve always been using mail + password. About 6 months ago I changed that mail address but subcription mails still target the old mail. I thought this might be a bug but if that doesn’t seem to be the case I’ll just delete my old subscriptions and re-subscribe.

I will report this to the forum’s operator (as this is developed and operated for Plex by an outside company).

Thanks!

@A.Eder When was the last time you signed into the forum after you changed your email on Plex account? The forum account does not sync up and update with any changes until you sign into it after change to Plex account… If you have not signed into since creating this topic today it might not have had your new email until today.

I haven’t signed into the forum for quite a while so what you’re describing is exactly what seemed to have happened.
Thanks for clearing that up :+1:

I’d like to mention though that maybe that behaviour isn’t ideal?
I first thought that the forum is a seperate account and wanted to change my mail there as well - but obviously didn’t need to. That left me wondering why I’m still receiving mails to my old address.

I’d say in a best case scenario users rarely need to use the forum as everything’s running smoothly - so maybe a different trigger might be better?

No need to discuss this further here, just wanted to give you my thoghts.
