Hi would it be possible to add the bitrate or transcoding to bitrate of a video file to the now playing screen, it would make for a simple way of checking for any bandwidth issues.

Not exactly what youre looking for but you ciuld install Tautulli (plexpy v2) on your server and throw the remote app on your mobile and check it there while you play back. It can also send buffering notifications if you or anyone you share with gets any buffering.
