NuPlayer in Android 10+?

Has there been any consideration in supporting NuPlayer for newer Android platforms?

I had figured Plex Labs opted to use OpenSL ES because it could be used on all platforms however I saw the old AAudio interface is also provided for Legacy devices.

I read that NuPlayer on Android 10 supports high res audio and now the audio effects / EQ supposedly can support high res as well.

After some reading I learned that NuPlayer can also help in that it can playback buffered content more quickly which could help PlexAmps UX on Android.

Are there any plans to implement a NuPlayer backend for the Android Platform?

AFAIK you have it backwards.

AAudio is newer than OpenSL ES: “It is designed for high-performance audio applications that require low latency”

From what I could find about NuPlayer, it’s mostly about video, not audio.

Hey Elan,

Thank you for the clarification.
I’m going to mark this as solved, as I’m guilty of doing an XY problem

After more searching through the forums I think it best just be consolidated under
