I have a plex server on a windows computer with an Nvidia RTX 2060 graphics card. Since I have been using plex, I have always used the Game Ready drivers. But there are also ‘Studio’ drivers, optimised for creative applications. That’s why I’m asking myself the following question: Is there any advantage in switching to Studio drivers for plex? Because studio drivers are, for example, optimised for Davinci Resolve, which processes video, so perhaps this could also have an impact on plex?
No difference other than the Studio drivers are usually more stable (NVidia’s own words ;)).
Studio drivers are simply older.
Latest release yesterday for both Game and Studio versions (566.14 -same driver) for my 4060. Game drivers have specific game updates included that are not necessary for Plex users.
I’ve been running Studio drivers for some time.
Edit- the last driver was more recent for the Studio version vs the Game version.
