NVIDIA Quadro P2200 Video Graphic Cards Windows 11

Server Version#: Version 1.32.4.7195
I Installed Windows 11 Pro on ASUS P8Z77V-LK motherboard with i5-3570 cpu which has basic HD HDMI on the board for the TV
The P2200 has listed HDMI on the spec’s and all it has is 4 Video ports NO HDMI . The reason I got this was for better multi upload streaming 4K. Should I return this ? What I read was the P2200 didn’t need hacked drivers for more upload for many users.

Getting my self confused again what else is NEW

The video ports do not matter for streaming. Plex uses the video decoder and encoder on the GPU, not the video port.

Make sure you are running the 64-bit version of Plex Media Server. It is required for hardware accelerated HDR to SDR tonemapping.

If you want to connect the P2200 to a TV, monitor, etc with a HDMI input, you can use a converter cable. DisplayPort to HDMI and DVI to HDMI cables are readily available.

This is what I downloaded and installed PlexMediaServer-1.32.4.7195-7c8f9d3b6-x86_64.exe

I assume the 64.exe means 64 bit

Well after installation the Screen is Black even tho I have the correct Video Card slot. The card must not be supported by the Motherboard.

Did you get a display port to HDMI adaptor?

Your monitor is plugged directly into the p2200?

You do not need the video ports on the GPU for Plex to use it for streaming but you do need them plugged in so you can get a picture to a monitor

If you installed the new GPU the onboard graphics are now disabled. If you are still plugged in to the old HDMI port you will get a black screen

No… but that was this morning I stopped at Best Buy after work paid $13 And THANK YOU !! It works have all the latest drivers installed  So thats it ? Plex will see that and automatically use the Video Card for transcoding and help uploading video streams on line ?

P.S. just for giggles installed another 16 gig of RAM now its upto 32 RAM

Was reading about Windows Pro 11 it seams they now have motherboards that can have 2 CPU’s and 11 Pro can deal with that ! Will that also help PLEX ?

Your iGPU should be disabled but you can check in the Device manager → Display adaptors to make sure. You should only see the p2200 listed which means there’s no other options

I know there is a new feature inside Plex that allows you to pick what you want to use under the transcoder settings. I’m not on that version so I’m not exactly sure what it looks like or if it would even apply to you

Tom will have to answer your question about dual CPU’s. The p2200 will run all your transcoding but I would think dual CPU’s would help with tasks like burning subtitles, generating intro’s or end credits. I’m not sure how Plex would handle that using 2 CPU’s or what cores are actually used

It is in the current beta build (Announcement).

Settings → Transcoder → Hardware transcoding device.

Burning subtitles is single threaded. So, for that task, higher single core Passmark ratings are preferred over multiple cores.

I’ve an i5-10500T/Ubuntu and it has no problem burning subtitles into 1080p video (single core = 2308).
The Celeron J3455 in my NAS fails miserably at the same task (single core = 809).

I’m not sure what is required for burning subtitles into 4K media.

Intro Detection uses the CPU to analyze audio tracks. It is also single threaded.

Credit Detection uses the CPU to analyze the video track. I do not know if it is single or multi-threaded. When the feature was first introduced, there were several posts about it maxing out the server CPU.

Intro and Credit detection will take a long time to churn through large libraries. Both can be scheduled as part of Scheduled Tasks, so it can occur during off hours if desired.

Yep only Video on device manager is P2200, shows working. I went into PLEX changed the Transcoding device from auto to P2200 also changed make my CPU hurt back to Auto.

Not sure what all this talk about burning subtitles. I can read and see fine and my hearing is perfect. Maybe the Next Gen Flat Screens will have braille !
