nVidia Shield Plex Server supposed to work?

I just bought a new nVidia Shield TV / WinTV tuner. With the intent of running Plex Media Server and Client.

I could get it all setup and running. Then reboot and Plex would be broken.

Either the server would not start/crash or if you did start it, it would pop a message saying starting for first time.

I factory reset like 5 times. I tried an SSD drive, a fast USB stick, and even just measly internal drive. Both removable and extended internal.

I’d lose the tuner and have to rescan channel and get new guide.

I’m about ready to return it.

I really wanted it to work. I like that it only uses 3.5 watts standby. And lots of other goodies with nVidia.

Also the picture looks like a faint fog your looking through. Not sure if that is a mismatch on LG OLED tv color space settings.

Also testing Tablo Dual lite. Which was easy breezy. Both same drives worked fine. All Working fine. But it has a slight Judder and uses 9 watts idle. nVidia Shield / Plex had no Judder issue, but a boat load of other unacceptable issues.

I googled around for the problem and my feeling matches other comments. It’s Android Oreo that broke it. The new file system restrictions/permissions are causing havoc with Plex.
