NVIDIA Shield + Synology DS718+

Pedant :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

For the purposes of this forum, I do not consider 15Hz to be a working solution. To be honest, I can’t think of many uses beyond some sort of display board where a 15Hz refresh rate would be useful :grinning:

A little more poring over chip specs suggests the following:

  • RasPi 3b+ and 3a+ both use BCM2837B0, which is identical to BCM2837A0 other than a higher clock rate
  • the BCM2837 series is identical to the BCM2836 used in a RasPi 2, besides a move from ARM7 core to ARM8
  • BCM2837 supports HDMI v1.3a

As the Raspberry Pi 2 came out on 2015 that takes us back prior to the Kodi article linked above, so I think it’s fair to assume that matters haven’t changed. The number of HD audio daughter boards available for the RasPi (I own a PiDAC) suggest that the audio output on the later devices still isn’t capable of 192kHz output.
