Nvidia Shield TV: Restore functions from the old player

On the Nvidia Shield TV:
In the new player there is a handful of things, compared to the old player, that really bugs me.

Like:

  • In the new player the next track button on the remote doesn’t jump to the next movie when using a playlist or shuffling. Instead it fast forwards, exactly as the right directional button. On the old player the right directional button fast forwards and the next track button jumps to the next movie.
  • In the new player the progress bar is not shown while holding down fast forward. It is in the old player.
  • In the new player I can not see when the movie ends (at what clock, not time remaining). I can in the old player.
  • In the new player the playback info is hidden in the menu, several button clicks away… In the old player I can see it with just one button click.

I would love if the above things could be changed in the new player.

Plex client 8.16.0.24099 beta

Press the top of the ring on the remote to see the progress bar.

Press a second time to move navigation control to the progress bar. You’ll see a dot on the bar showing playback location. Use right/left sides of ring to move forward/back.

Yes, that was nice.

Workaround: In Plex app settings, you can enable displaying the clock in the upper right corner when on screen controls are displayed. Use clock + time remaining to determine when the movie will end.

Pretty sure everyone wants this back. Plex has mentioned the feature returning, but no timelines provided.
