I have an existing setup using drivers 535. Transcoding is working properly on this deployment. When upgrading to 550.120, transcoding stops working with x265 10bit sources, but works with x265 8bit sources.
The symptoms for x265 10bit is a little weird. When changing quality to transcode, it switches to play but with the original quality (not lower quality), it then plays until the cache is empty and then pauses with the spinning buffering circule. plex dashboard also says “direct play”.
Addtionally, if I use the 10bit source, I can encode it using FFMPEG in a docker container using hardware.
Logs:
For 10bit I get TPU: hardware transcoding: enabled, but no hardware decode accelerator found followed by: Jobs: '/usr/lib/plexmediaserver/Plex Transcoder' exit code for process 1427 is -9 (signal: Killed)
Just prior to this ffmpeg does go though “Testing with profile ‘Main 10’” using hardware, ending with “dummy-frame test succeeded”
For 8bit I get TPU: hardware transcoding: final decoder: nvdec, final encoder: nvenc.
Additionally, after plex is up for a while I also start to see a spam of [Req#ff37f/Transcode/bd4c8997-605f-4965-96c4-6eb5a9b3218f/cba71f8a-dbd8-4d9c-a4c7-96f49e50fb2c] Error while decoding stream #0:1: No space left on device
I can provide full logs, but I cannot see anything in the logs that point to the issue.
Any help or confirmation on a Plex issue would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Edit: 1.41.4.9463 landed with a bunch of fixes for transcoding. This has not resolved the issue. Upgraded from 1.41.4.9421.
