Hi there, ever since the update of PMS 1.16.2.1297 from 1.16.1.*, I’ve lost remote access to my server with Infuse app on iOS. Remote access with native plex media player is working fine.
So I tried to re-authenticate with Infuse, but not being able to OAuth login again.
On the OAuth page, https://app.plex.tv/auth/#!?clientID=xxx&forwardUrl=infuse-oauth://plex&code=xxxx, I tried with email and google, both showing “we were unable to complete this request. You will be redirected automatically.”
After a bit googling, seems to be an issue with plex auth server?
If not, how do I debug this issue?
Any input here would be much appreciated.
Hello! same here, with the latest update of Plex Media Server I have the same problem (server version 1.16.2.1297) :-((( Any help?
This workaround was posted in the support discord for Tautulli (monitoring system built in Python).
Here is a current work around for the Plex OAuth issue until Plex fixes it:
- Copy the URL of the Plex OAuth popup window to a new browser tab. Do not close the popup window .
- Add
&context[device][product]=Plex Web to the end of the URL.
- Sign in to Plex on the new tab and Tautulli will authenticate. The popup will close automatically.

So as of this solution, the problem is on Plex’s side. I hope it’s temporary.
If they are blocking third-party [device][product], they could just shutdown OAuth api completely .
