odd recently added TV behaviour

I have recently been adding a new TV series piecemeal that has four series and what appears on recently added is just odd.
It shows one entry for series 2 (4 files) one entry for series 1 EP 2 and one entry for 3 seasons (14 files) which is really the only one I want to see.
If I look under TV shows it all looks good, just a pain to have half of my recently added taken up by one program.
I am guessing that these represents what Plex found each time it updated the library but surely it could consolidate these into one entry (especially as it has already done this with the 3 seasons entry)

It’s “normal” behavior. There is hard coded limit to items displayed in recently added section.
If you want to read my struggle with it when I’ve discovered how it works: http://forums.plex.tv/discussion/215085/recently-added-television-all-of-the-sudden-limited-to-7-items/p1
If you add tv show that has more episodes then limit in recently added, then you will see only that show, let’s say 4 season, 15 episodes each.
If you continue to add single episodes from different shows, then the show you have added above will be displaying less and less items in recently added. It will go to 3 seasons, then 2, might even split into few items, showing 1 full season and single episodes from another one just like you have described.
I don’t know how to better explain how it works, all I know there is no solution and it looks bad if you add 1 big show at once.

This isn’t really the problem with the total limit. Its the fact that it is splitting it up. As I add more entries it is still adding to the 3x Seasons entry but also to a separate season 2 entry thereby taking up more screen space on the list.
