Old Mac Pro + 4K = possible?

I have an old Mac Pro Quad Core with 32gb of ram. I was thinking about turning it into a Plex Server since my current one can’t 4K transcode. Think it would work better then current setup? Do you think it would work at all for transcoding at 4K?

Current rig is a AMD A8-5500 3.2ghz with 12 GB of ram.

Where did you get the requirements for a 4K transcode being a 2000 passmark? From what I recall the guideline is a 2000 passmark for a single 1080 HD transcode.
