One Button Skip intro for AndoidTV

Right now we have to press the middle button, press right two times and then press the middle button again. (At least on NVIDIA Shield).

It would be nice to just press the middle button once in order to skip an intro (like it is in the Netflix app), especially on a Device heavily marketed for PLEX Support (at least when I bought it)

I’m a bit surprised and tested this on my Sony Android TV.
When the intro approaches, I get an overlay button with the option to skip. I click OK (“middle button”) and Plex skips it. No navigating or clicking other buttons.

On what version of Plex for Android (TV) do you experience this?

OK, I tested using my TV Remote instead of my 3rd party android remote and it works there.

Which means that whoever develops this app should please add support for the ENTER keys to do skip intro additionally to DPAD_CENTER.

Are you using the Plex app on your Android (mobile) as a remote or is this some other app?

Or configure your remote to send DPAD_CENTER when pressing the middle button?

Thanks… reading all of the post certainly helps

Yeah, not as easy as it sounds. Button remapper only lets you do that (actually change codes) once you activated USB Debugging, which doesn’t work when your remote uses a BT dongle to connect.

Most 3rd party remotes actually have this issue, since they are technically keyboards with less buttons…
Sadly nothing you can really do but petition the author of the app to change it in order to accept the alternative input. (PLEX actually isn’t as bad as others, since ENTER at least opens the overlay)

Makes sense. I assumed you were using a programmable device.

Update this feature suggestion’s text and the title slightly?
