Hi
I have a plex server running in the cloud and I would like to run a second server in the house.
Iam logged into the cloud sever with my plex account but when I install the plex server on a local machine in addition and login with the same account as the one used in the cloud im unable to claim the new server. It loads the same list of content as the cloud server.
I ve tryed logging into the plex server in the house via http://localhost:32400/ and 192.168.x.x:32400/ but im getting no where fast
I did this a number of years ago and didnt have a problem I was able to see both servers and click between them but somthing must have changed?
Im running the local server on a windows work station
Any help would be great before i pull the last hair out of my head
You are logged into your Plex account.
Your cloud server is also signed into your Plex account.
Thus a Plex client knows that the server is yours and lets you access it.
It is possible to sign several servers into your Plex account.
There are no special preparations needed to do that.
You just need to perform the initial claiming strictly according to the book. But there is a potential wrinkle:
If you already have experimented on that computer with Plex server before, I recommend you use this You need to reclaim your server, but don't dare to touch the Windows Registry to sever the link between the old plex server installation and its Plex account (which might not be the same as the one you’re using now).
