OpenConnect (OSX APP)

Does that mean once you install Plexconnect on your ATV3 then ATV3 will never update automatically when apples pushes a new update?

Thats already built-in to the main code in the settings.cfg file thats generated upon first run:

[PlexConnect]
enable_plexgdm = True
ip_pms = 192.168.178.10
port_pms = 32400
enable_dnsserver = True
port_dnsserver = 53
ip_dnsmaster = 8.8.8.8
prevent_atv_update = True <--------------------Here
enable_plexconnect_autodetect = True
ip_plexconnect = 0.0.0.0
hosttointercept = trailers.apple.com
port_webserver = 80
enable_webserver_ssl = True
port_ssl = 443
certfile = ./assets/certificates/trailers.pem
loglevel = Normal
logpath = .

Yes, if you need/want a update just change that setting to false.

Minor updates have been pushed to guide users on in-app updates and installing git. Also fixed a cert generation error that may occur on some versions of OSX. Cleaned up some applescript errors in case auto update plist was already installed or certs were already deleted to warn user.

ok

i think i finally found a way that works for me to confirm that plexconnect is running without having to check on the appletv

ps axo pid,command | grep -i plexconnect

You can easily just type in your plexconnect host ip into any browser on your lan. If it says error response plexconnect is running. OpenConnect is designed to always keep plexconnect always running with the plist it installs.

I just pushed a update to the code. OpenConnect now has a plexconnect status option in the expert menu. The WebConnect add-on now includes a status option as well.

WebConnect guided installation had been implemented into OpenConnect via the expert menu. Easy PlexConnect web-based management any device, any browser, anywhere.

lots of dialog boxes popping up, but it works

. nice.

Ya, if I take them out then I would have new users complaining about not knowing what the app is doing. Thanks for the feedback, i’m glad it works for you. :smiley:

Fixed the status option in WebConnect and added a reboot OSX option to WebConnect also. Just install webconnect again from OpenConnect if updating to get the new options.

Just added a few new options to WebConnect:

Reinstall WebConnect from OpenConnect to update. Now testing with clickable icons not sure what I can design yet.

*Fixed - icons can be clicked now from WebConnect, anyone good with html? :ph34r:

I apolgize, but I am missing something on installing this.  I have been following this and there used to be a readme file for installation, now there is none.  Has that been eliminated and all I need to do to install is download and run openconnect?  I've done that and get an automator error.  I first get a popup, something about cloning and then goes away.  I then get Welcome with 3 options, I click continue.  Then What option ...  I click guide, then request for PW.  Have you installed certs, yes.  Create or delete ..., keep certs.  Which app do ..., trailers.  Error.

I am running from my plexify install ~/library/application support/plexify.  Is that alright or do I have to delete and start over?

It clones sources into /applications/plexconnect. What osx version are you running, also are you entering in your password when it prompts you to? The readme has been eliminated, now you can install everything from the app. Make sure you grab the latest app from the first post.

i suggest saving your old certs but otherwise starting from scratch with open connect and letting it install a new plexconnect. when its done copy your old certs into the right place.

Another thing are you sure you have git installed? Without git OpenConnect cannot clone current sources. The first window prompts you to install git with a download link in OpenConnect. Install git if its missing then relaunch OpenConnect.

I am running 10.9.1 and I did enter my password.

Send me a pm I can use teamviewer to see whats going on. Are you sure you don’t have a existing folder in applications/plexconnect? Do you have git installed? Do you have a administrator password setup?

No, yes, yes

Ok well without looking into it to see what is exactly going on I'm not sure what I can do to help your situation. I have uninstalled and re-installed on both of my machines without any issues using the latest sources. OpenConnect doesn't have magical powers to fix unknown issues that may lie on your machine. :P Is it a really old machine/OS or upgrade from older versions of osx?

Im looking into updating webconnect from webconnect itself.

Update- fixed @todivefor's issue. Existing folder was present at /applications/plexconnect preventing the github clone.

Fixed some updating errors with webconect. Also implemented updating Webconnect from Webconnect. That was fun.  :D

No, yes, yes

You can trust Wahlman. He's teamviewer helped me a million times. Legit and genuine. Decent human being. At any point if you feel insecure just shut down your internet connection. Then uninstall teamviewer.

New theme to trying to look like the Apple TV. It would be great if they all looked like the start icon. Not the best icons but a good start. Optimized for iPad's :D

If anyone can find any 150x150 no white border icon's that look similar to the start button let me know. The format shouldn't matter.

What do you know my jailbroken apple tv is loaded with useful icons :D

Does openconnect work over wifi? everything works great over ethernet but over wifi it doesn’t do anything :confused:

WebConnect does. PlexConnect over wifi? OpenConnect just installs plexconnect there is no reason it should mess with your wifi.
