OpenPHT won't stay signed in to plex. Help

Hi, every time I restart my nuc I have to sign in to plex again. I’ve had this issue before with 1.6.2, and somehow, I don’t know how (pretty sure it was a re-install), it started working so I left it alone and stopped asking questions. Now I’m trying to get openpht up and running on a second NUC but this issue will not magically disappear. other settings don’t seem to persist either, such as video calibration. I’ve tried 1.6.2 and now 1.7.1, same problem.

Manually specifying the server doesn’t seem to do anything, I imagine it’s because the server requires authentication and if I disassociated it from the plex servers the option would work, but I don’t want to do that.

Any hints or tips to get around this? really frustrating.

INTEL build on NUC.

I’ve seen some very similar behaviour on a RasPi with a failing, but not failed, sdcard. Is you storage for the OS OK?

Hi, well I can’t rule it out, I might try to run from USB and see if it works ok. The SSD in the nuc is new, but you never know. Thanks.

Is the server on a separate machine or on the NUC?

We have this every time our server reboots. We have to log our Pi back in.

We have openPHT on our server and had the same issue. We know have openPHT start a few minutes after the server program, via a scheduled task, and this has resolved it.

Nope, seperate. I have a multitude of other clients, including another nuc running open pht, none of them do this. weird

It’s possible that the install is corrupt somehow. It happens of course. Have you tried reinstalling?

What OS is on the NUC where openPHT won’t stay signed in?

Also, is openPHT on that NUC set to stay signed in, or to automatically log in?

Have a look under Preferences > System > Plex - Make sure that Automatic sign in is selected. If not, checking that should solve your problem.

Its the embedded install, I’ve tried reinstalling. Auto sign in is not selectable for some reason.

Hahaha, I just came back to it, powered up the nuc and it signed in. I restarted it and it came back up and signed in. wtf. ah well, all’s well that ends well. Thanks for the suggestions.

This sounds like network issues. Are you using auto-signin or another feature?

Sometimes when an embedded system launches the OpenPHT application it can try to connect to the server before the system’s network connection is fully established, leading to a false login failure.
This problem is especially common when using WiFi, since that requires some more handshaking with router/accesspoint in order to connect the system.
To avoid this problem you may need to set the option “Wait for network before starting OpenPHT.” in the submenu “System Settings” > “Network”
