Optimal file format?

Hello!

New Plex Pass Subscriber here and new plea user as a whole! I have a few questions:

I'm migrating from a pure Apple TV streaming setup. I would rip to MKV -> Handbrake with a final format of an m4v with the optimal settings for an Apple TV2.

I'm noticing that in Plex, these movies have no chapters. I also don't know if there is any other features I'm missing out on by doing it this way. Therefore, as a newbie to flex and lex on the XB1, I'm curious as to what's the "best" or most optimal method/file format or workflow to use as this will not be my PRIMARY streaming system.

Thanks all and excellent work on this app!

Anyone??

h264 in an MP4 container with AAC audio would be the most compadable combo with more devices. This also works well on the apple TV.

Xbox supports this nativatly. Other video and audio formats and containers you risk having to transcode. The safer combo also is safer accross other devices you may use later with plex.
