Optimized Versions / transcoding for later download doesn't proceed past 1 file

Server Version#: 4.146.0
Hosted as a linuxserver/plex docker container at ugreen nas (some debian flavor of host OS)

I wanted to download some optimized versions for my vacation allowing them to cook in the background for a day, but apparently there’s an old at least 9 months old bug that prevents transcoding from going through all files in a directory? Instead it finishes 1 file and stops until you edit an optimized directory settings and only then it will proceed. It makes transcoding anything more than 1 file unfeasible. It also doesn’t go with simultaneous transcoding of multiple files, which makes me question the setting for number of transcoders.

Lifetime plex pass is active, and I expected more from it…

That is the version of Plex Web.

Please verify the Plex Media Server version, in Settings → Server_Name → General.

Version 1.41.6.9685

Thanks for the info. Possibly fixed in current beta. See release notes.

Interesting, that does look like a potential fix. As I’m using docker version I’ll have to wait until it’s in a stable build and assembled by linuxserver repo. Do you know when will it have public release with this change?

There is a new public release roughly once per month. It depends on when Plex has the desired features / fixes in place and deems it stable enough for a public release.
