Considering the way you talk down to people here, “kindness” should probably not be something you should be addressing.
I happen to agree with brotes7 though, the option would more than likely be turned off by default, thus making it so those of us who want it would need to traverse the options to turn it on. It is also a valid point that the majority of people who bother to set up a plex server are doing so specifically for the ability to customize their experience. In order to customize, options need to be available. No one is telling you that you HAVE to turn it on, we would just like an option for it to be ABLE to be turned on.

I still do not like the suggested feature. If it ever gets implemented, make sure that it is disabled by default, so that all of those around me who want it can enable it (shouldn’t be a problem for them according to their own arguments here in this thread).

Voted - would love to see this as well as skipping credits. All user configurable.
Why should I have to sit through 2 episodes before enabling auto-skip? Why not just put a check box on the Skip button that when checked makes the option sticky?

I like that in terms of simplicity, but it raises questions.
How sticky? Would it stay on indefinitely, if not what’s the timeout? Would it apply across seasons of a show? Across series?
My suggestion would likewise minimize necessary user input and still offer the ability to enable auto skip by default or disable auto skip completely by setting the value to 0 or -1 respectively.
So set it to one, then skip once and it auto skips for the rest of the session.
Clearly the goal here is auto skip, but it should change the user interface as little as possible, both for the sake of users and devs. My flavor would require a single addition to the settings and not change the player interface at all; still just a button the user either presses or not.
Would also absolutely love this feature! The skip intro functionality is incredible, and an option to always skip intros (universally or per show) would be very welcome. I often watch shows while falling asleep, and some shows have intros at such a higher volume that they startle me back awake. It would be a great improvement to an already excellent feature!

I vote for it as well! I love the skip intro feature but hate to always skip it on 20min shows. Saw many ideas on how to solve this request but I would keep it simple:
Global Option “always skip Intro” - that’s it.

It can be simple, just a toggle to auto skip intro. If it could also be adjustable per show, that would be cool to.

I want to be able to have a setting to automatically skip TV intros regardless of if I have watched any of the episodes. I’d like to be able to make this server-wide or show-wise, so that I can opt to skip intros of say House, Breaking Bad, but then no other series. Or the option to say “all shows”, so that every TV series has their intros skipped. I’d like this for both current series and new series as I add them.

If implemented as I suggest, set the option to “1” and when you’re watching a show—any show—skip an intro and they autoskip for the rest of the session. Set it to “0” and they all autoskip until you change the setting. This would be multi-server-wide, but per-user (which is implied in that the user needs a plex pass to skip intro anyhow).
IMO, making this toggle also per-series is too complicated of a user-interface. As suggested, if set to “1”, a single skip starts auto-skip and after that a single un-skip disables it. Pretty simple and intuitive I think.

Too complicated per series? A toggle on the series page is too difficult? Bottom line, I want to have series autoskip by default for my account (oh sorry, per user) regardless of when and where I log in to my Plex server.
At this point I’ll take any form of autoskip…
