Option to enter (load) and sort by album catalog number

I’ve started to use plex and plexamp for my music collections and most of it is working really well. However i listen to alot of library music and would like to sort them by releasenumber (catalognumber). I can do that by adding a sort title like “MP 16 - Supra pop impressions” (for this albumhttps://www.discogs.com/master/355792-Janko-Nilovic-Featuring-J-P-Alarcen-Supra-Pop-Impressions).

But when i browse alla albums i don’t want all MP2000-albums to show up under M if i sort by title, but as of now when you sort by title it sorts by sorttitle. Itwould be great if you could sort it by both title and sorttitle, so for my MP2000 (or other label) collection i could sort by sort-title and when browsing my whole collection i could browse by title.

Or is here any other way for me to do what i want with the current way plex and music works?

You’re actually looking for an option to store catalog numbers and sort your library by those?

Yes thats pretty much what im looking for.

The possibility for sorting on both title and sort title would solve that and other possible cases for other users.

I don’t think so… keep in mind the sort title is already having a purpose (specifying the sort order how the item should be sorted when sorted by title). Re-using this field will obsolete that use case.

Let’s focus on addressing the underlying need/purpose.
