By default when we go to a movie or a work we look at its rating
“to get an idea”.
There’s nothing more frustrating than having already a preconceived idea of the movie or series we’re going to watch, when the work itself surprises us.
I’m convinced that you can’t compare war movies from the 70’s with love movies of today, or a Netflix series with a 40-year-old Japanese animated series.
Ratings are primarily subjective. That’s why criticism and polemics are so relevant.
IMDB and TMDB notes contribute to this feeling of subterfuge.
That’s why I’m asking to add an option to hide Plex’s ratings on all its clients.
Vote for it if you agree
late to the show…
would you mind elaborating what rating you mean?
- audience/critics rating from IMDb/TMDb/Rotten Tomatoes
- content rating w/ age restrictions
- reviews (review snippets) showing as cards on the movie page
- something entirely different…
I’ve been re-reading your suggestion and cannot wrap my head around what exact information you want to hide.
Hi @tom80H, I would like to hide the audience/critics rating from IMDb/TMDb or RT on a movie main page.
As in opting for “no ratings source”?
Exactly
So there is already a Feature suggestion for the same thing.
In that case, let’s close this one in order to avoid distracting/dispersing votes.
Please vote/comment in the existing/original request instead.
