Options to Auto-Rotate Video in iOS App

The new Plex app for iOS only has options to lock to Landscape view.

The UI for getting to that option to untick it just so I can view in Portrait mode is needing improvement. I want the old functionality back so when I rotate my phone the playing video also rotates with it.

Also, the controls on the screen are small and sometimes don’t respond to finger presses to change things like seeking through a video.

You should able to tap anywhere along the horizontal row from including actual text to the check box itself. But I will pass long that it that tap area maybe need to be enlarged.

I appreciate the quick response. Just restating that the main request is to enable auto-rotate feature into the new app.

it already does that when you disable that setting

I’ll have to test again because it wasn’t working for me. Which is the reason I created this post.

Confirmed just now that auto-rotation of playing video is not working for me.

I’m on an iPhone 11 Pro running iOS 18.4.1 and Plex for iOS version 18.4.1 / 2025.13.0 (1025)

I’ve tried multiple videos and verified that “Lock to landscape” is not checked.
Rotated my phone in multiple directions and the video stays locked in Portrait mode and never rotates with my phone.

have you checked that your iPhone itself is not set to rotation lock in control center? Swipe down from top right of screen to open Control Center. Rotate your iPhone screen - Apple Support

I forgot to mention that I checked the iOS rotate lock setting as well. It’s not set. Other videos like Youtube rotate fine.

Apple dev told me a fix for this should be out next week.
