I am using the free version of Plex to access movies stored on my desktop. A friend recently shared his Plex server with me and he has the premium version. Our router has an app where I can shut off the internet to our desktop so that my kids can’t access it while I gone. However, the shared server from my friend still works even when I pause the internet to my pc. Is there a way to pause access to the shared server? Thanks
It sounds like your app only blocks new connections, not those that were previously established. Try blocking your internet and after that disconnect your server from your network and connect it again after 10 seconds. Is it still able to connect to your friend’s server?
Are your kids accessing to from your pc? Your friend having a Plex Pass or not would have nothing to do with this. If they are accessing from a Plex app your TV that has internet access for example that has nothing to do with your server on your PC
