I cannot find any information as to what mp.plex.tv is doing. It is phoning home every 2 seconds in recorded history in my DNS query logs. I did not notice this until recently.
I have blacklisted it and find no change in the app.
Are you loading new media? mp.plex.tv is the metadata host. When adding new media or updating existing (Settings - Server - Scheduled Tasks), PMS will reach to mp.plex.tv and it can make inquiries every 2 seconds while doing so. It will go through each media item in the library in rapid-fire succession.
My library has not changed even slightly since recording a few TV shows in early December. I only have a handful of shows and movies period. I use the Android app a few times a month to watch my HDHomerun.
Would you mind grabbing the log files? That activity should be in there.
