Photo Library showing videos

I have lots of questions/suggestions regarding Photos, Photo libraries, and Photo Albums in Plex.
First of all, when I add a photo library and point the folder to my media folders, VIDEOS also show up in the photo library. Is there a way to turn that off so only images (no videos) show up in a Photo Library?

sorry there is not.

It was made that way because most folks copy the all the contents of DCIM folder to the same place on their computer.

Ugh… Bummer! What chance do I have to ever get that and some other features requests implemented?
My use case is a little unique. We use Plex at my church campus to show classroom video clips, play music, & show slideshows.
We have Roku devices on most of our TV screens and use the app on laptops, PCs, & projectors.
Overall, it works pretty well for videos and music. Our children’s ministry director LOVES Plex.
But, for photo slideshows & presentations, it is really cumbersome.

  • Photo Libraries include videos too. They should only show still photos.
  • I REALLY wish playlists/albums could mix different media types. For example, one playlist include a mix of videos, &/or music, &/or photos/images.
  • I wish Playlists/albums should not auto-play the whole playlist. I would like a way to pause between playlist items.

For me, those three features alone would rock my world!

There is a Feature Suggestion forum where you can add suggestions. Please search first to make sure there aren’t already existing requests. If there are, just add your vote/comments to that. Don’t add duplicate threads. Please add only one suggestion per thread. Messages with multiple requests make voting difficult.

With regard to the mixed photo/video playback, that feature was added in response to a pretty popular feature request. I wouldn’t expect a request to change it back to be very popular.
