Photo Organisation

I have about 5000 photo’s on Plex.
I have them all in folders that relate to, say they year, or specific themes - say a particular holiday.
Many of the pictures have names that are the same, many will have been ‘created’ at the same time, because they come from different devices.
It appears that you can sort by type, but this is of no value to me.
There seems to be no sensible way of organising the photo’s manually. It’s a bit like iphoto that tries to be so clever it makes it impossible to do anything with it.
What I would like is to know if it is possible to have a directory structure that I can access from the main interface. Ideally I’d like to be able to order photo’s within each folder so that I can create the narrative not a computer algorithm…

Any ideas?

Photos will be displayed exactly as you have the folder structure. However, PMS cannot make a distinction if you have the same filenames. You need to figure out your own organization for that. Here is an example of what I use.

Photos

  • 2017
    – 01 New Years
    — From My phone
    — From My camera
    – 02 Trip to Disneyland
    – 02 Picnic at the Park
  • 2016

etc.

The 01, 02 are the months so they show up in order. This only works when you are looking at the library as “Browse by Type”. “Browse by Timeline” always uses the date and you cannot organize it any further.
