Hi. I have all my photos on an external hard drive, sorted in folders by year (2018, 2017 etc). Plex scans all the folders and when I open plex I can see each year as a separate “folder”. How do I sort the pictures inside each folder? They are sorted by name I think, which puts all the photos I have taken with my phone after the photos I have taken with the my camera.
Before I select a folder, I see an option to sort the folders by name, date added etc., but I see no options within each folder.

That may be the only way to modify the sort order but it is a ridiculous solution. What is needed is a feature to all “sort by date taken”. This is provided at the folder level, where it is of no use at all, but not inside the folders. I’ve seen this isse raised and re-raised over several years but nothing is done.

Ugh, I was hoping it was just me. How has this been overlooked? I agree that the folder level sort options are useless. And not having sort features for a folder of 1000’s of images is also ridiculous.
I agree, this solution is unmaintainable if you have 1000s of photos.
Please implement photo sorta just as they are for videos.
