Just remind issue this in here, I fund iPhone right now are not blurry, but iPad still the same, please fix it.
Hi all - not that this will work, but I created a feature request (if they won’t fix it maybe they can change it) - maybe this group can vote up the request…
Still a issue in oktober 2021 why is this not adressed?
IOS 14.7.1 - Plex 7.24.1
Still happening
Still happening. Paid for the app just to see it’s worthless. I thought that the issue was related to the ‘limits’ around unpaid. This isn’t just an issue, it’s absolutely inexcusable for this problem to have gone on for two years now.
Yes, still not working correctly on Apple TV or iPhone.
Sometimes it doesn’t happen for a while (more than 25-30 pictures later) but it does happen consistently and should be replicable by anyone on your staff.
This makes Photos on iOS essentially unusable.
I’m seeing the same issue with an Apple TV 4.
So far the same problem. Plex Photo Viewer practically doesn’t work on iOS. I guarantee that a lot of Plex customers have already left and will continue to be the same. There is an unprecedented disregard for us…
I totally switched to Emby. So far, no more issues. It just works.
I have switched to another solution as well and am fed up with the ignorance of the Plex developers.
The Plex photo stream on iOS is complete bullshit, and I never liked that damned blurry foto background at all. Can’t believe this can’t be changed…
WTF is this?? Activision? Why is nobody fixing this?
I bought a whole new Server because I had issues with Plex on my Synology NAS and besides that other bug, this one still exists!
Can somebody at least talk to us here on this forum how things are going with this if at all??
I’m pretty sure this issue is now fixed on the latest clients!
I was unable to reproduce it on my iPad, iPhone and Apple TV running the latest Plex Clients.
How about everyone else?
No still the same for me … running the latest version on all platforms
Yup, I spoke too soon. I was able to replicate the issue on my Apple TV again.
What did seem a little different though is I was more likely to run into the blur issue when there were more pictures in the slideshow. If my folder I was initiating the slideshow from was ~130 pictures, it didn’t happen, but if it was a few thousand, it did.
Previously it’d occur even in those ~130 picture count slideshows.
I can’t even get photos to play even two photos. When you press play (or shuffle) the first photo comes up and then just sits there - never moves on to the next photo.
I have a thread with details here:
Nice that v8.0 is now out… but no mention of photo slide show fixes @anafpf
still not working for me…
frustrating …
Latest version of server, Apple TV and it has always done this. I just thought it didn’t work and wasn’t supported anymore. They took “slideshow” off their website when it became clear the application didn’t have a slideshow function. Just made me think photo support was going away. But yeah. same thing. Manually move through 15-20 photos and they start coming in blurred.
Trying to see if we’re able to get some support here.
@ Mentioning some of the Plex folks who have announced updates to the iOS app.
@chfredrickson , @alexjohnj, @anafpf, @Stevenson-Price, @steve_barnegren
Hi folks, hope you’re all well.
We’ve been struggling with this easily reproducible issue for quite some time.
What is the correct approach to get someone to take a look and get this issue resolved?
The folks in this thread are more than happy to help with screenshots, screen recordings, logs etc etc - please let us know what we need to do to help the Plex team get this issue resolved.
Sadly Plex is unable to display slide show images after viewing around 25 or so images. It starts fine, but the photos eventually blur and are unviewable.
Thanks in advance for your help and please let us know if we’re going about getting you this feedback the wrong way.
Hi, thanks for the reports and info, and apologies for the long standing issue. We are aware of it but as mentioned in some previous replies we’ve had trouble reproducing internally.
The good news is I think we may have finally tracked this down, and we’re hoping to have a fix in our next beta.
Sorry again for this issue, and thanks again for the reports and keenness to help us track it down!
“Trouble replicating”? Since I first posted about this years ago, we have never had anyone say they didn’t have the same problem. No one ever said, “Mine works. Must be a problem at your end.” Everyone who posted said they had the exact same problem—problem. Without exception I got so frustrated after years of neglect, I canceled my Plex Pass. Then eventually just stopped using Plex altogether.
Glad to hear you “think” you have “fixed” the problem. Only about 3 years too late for me. But still, I’m relieved this ridiculously long standing issue has finally been addressed. Thank you for finally doing something.
