I have to say compared to other platforms XBO and PS4 Deb seems sparse. Seeing as XBO has passthrough and Amazon prime in the UK it makes it perfect. But it frequently crashes (Sometimes giving me and error and with high nitrate 1080p mkvs actually turns the system off). The interface is also sluggish. This is a preview build so I can understand missing features and the occasional bug but to have such app breaking issues (I switch to XBMC despite watching everything else on XBO) is a shame. I understand there is probably a lot more red tape to release an Xbox update as opposed to say a Roku or Google Play update though. So possibly waiting to bull a big update together…
Another PS3/PS4 update has been released, feels bad man! I think they've had like 2/3 times the number of updates now, even though it was released after the XB1 app :P Still hoping for an update soon!
Yeah, but to be fair, the PS4 update was to fix a issue that made the app almost unusable for a week.. During that week I was using the Xbox One App, which is stable so, be careful with what you wish ;)
Yeah it seems like it’s a lot easier to push updates out for the PlayStation… Hopefully Microsoft improve on this side for 3rd party developers. I’m using the Xbox preview dash and get updates almost daily for that!
The no communication thing is what kills me... just something about what is in the works would be great! It has become very obvious that we will not be getting small and frequent updates, so lets hope there is some giant bomb of an update that will make it more comparable to PHT.
EDIT: just read in another thread that there is an update coming--something about playing a music collection.
Forgive my venting... but why is the Xbox One app being neglected? No update since January, yes PS3 and PS4 have received at least a couple of updates in that time. Not good. Please let's not forget that we subscribers are paying for these apps.

It's been stated in another thread that an update is in Microsoft's hands for certification. It's also been said on the forums that it would include mkv support and music, while photos would be in the following release.
Here's hoping that MS will complete there testing and certification process quickly and get the update out.
I'm hoping the delay is due to the Universal Application stuff for Windows 10. Hoping anyway because this software has barely changed in functionality since I purchased a Plex Pass.
EDIT - Just seen adamskoog's post, lets hope we get an update soon.
I just want Plex Home, and companion app support (ie. Act as player)
I see something got updated... it shows 1.0.0.13
Are there release notes?

Minor update from back in Jan
#bump
hey Plex, care to comment? would like to know when i can actually start listening to my music on my xbox, the reason i actually bought a plex pass!!!!!!
The next release is currently in the certification process (another round should be starting today or tomorrow). I'm updating this thread every week or so with information:

Music is in the next release, so hopefully you won't be waiting much longer. Sorry for the frustration!
Good on you Dom. Everyone appreciates the updates and they really go a long way to ease the frustration of waiting for the next release!
Thanks for the update, Dom. Really looking forward to music.
Any comment on HEVC support? Should just take a profile update on the server side, correct?
HEVC support will need us to check 3rd party app support, and how well it behaves for Plex like streaming (MKV wasn't initially great with this). When that's done, I'm sure we'll enable it. We're working on making this work without client updates - but not there yet.
Thanks!

Any idea on how long a "typical" certification process would last? Are we talking days, weeks, or months?

I read about one week.
But the staff will have more reliable numbers :-)
It typically takes a week or two from submission to certification results - but those results can (and do) include issues that need resolving. So it can go through many rounds of submission/certification before release.
We currently have one outstanding failure that we're looking into right now (it was raised at the end of Friday). We'll resubmit with a fix as soon as we have one and hope no more are found.
Thanks.
Glad to hear that the certification process is in action. The current state of the app makes it almost unusable. I had it crash and shutdown my XBO 5 times yesterday and I said the hell with it and used the app on my LG TV. It worked 10 times better and brings up the next episode in TV shows when you finish one.
