Play counts for music?

Hello –

Is there any way, when playing an album, that we can see the number of play counts for an individual track? I know there is the option to “view play history” but that’s not terribly convenient.

Given how much real estate there is between the song title and the track time, might it not be possible to add a simple play count field? It’s pretty standard in most music apps…

I wonder in what use case you might want that information to actually show?

As things stand today, you can…

  • show your library by tracks in list view and include play count… this will show the play count for all your songs
  • apply a custom filter on the track plays… even saving that as a smart playlist
  • sort by plays (aggregated by albums/artists…).

Thank you for the quick response.

I tend to listen to full albums, and on the default view for an album, all you see is the track number, the track name, and all the way to the right the track running time. It would be nice to be able to have other columns displayed there – such as play count, bit rate, etc. (Exactly like you can in the filter view.)
