Playback error - Please check that the file exists and that the required hard disk is available

Hi,

I received the above error message for the first time today.
Updating and rebooting did not help. I have reconnected the external hard disk on which I have my media to the Raspberry. Then it worked again.
But only for a certain, varying amount of time.
Then I get the error message again.
If I remove the external medium again and reconnect it, it works again for a while.

Does anyone have similar problems? Permissions are set to 777.
I’am using Version 4.132.2.

The mount point and how it’s mounted are just as, if not more, important as permissions.

Have you reviewed?

It looks as if the mountpoint will actually disappear after a while. For whatever reason.

that usually implies overzealous power saving mode somewhere.

Mount point directories are dynamic only if using Nautilus (Gnome) and its automounter (mount point is under /media)

Creating hard mount point directories will not disappear
( This is what I highlighted in my How-To )
