My Plex Media Server connects to an external hard drive which contains all the music folders. I noticed one folder was corrupted, so I re-ripped the CD and uploaded it to the hard drive, deleting the old folder. When I play this music from the Plex home page, via ‘recently added music’, it plays fine, however, when I locate the same music folder in the specific music library, I get a ‘playback error’ message, ie. the folder can’t be found. Any idea what’s going on? Many thanks for your help, Dominic
I can only guess Plex has still cataloged the old album and fails to see the original/old files, hence giving you this error.
You should be able to see the exact files linked to an album/track via the context menu / get info menu.
