All media plays fine apart from 1 particular movie. I know its not the fault of the movie as I have just yesterday, switched from an Amazon fire TV (which it worked on) to the shield. The movie also plays without issue on the PC.
Looking at the logs there appears to be an error: “Transcode runner appears to have died” , is this the culprit or is something else to blame?
I noticed the Transcoder through an error: Error while opening encoder for output stream #0:1 - maybe incorrect parameters such as bit_rate, rate, width or height
I’d like to figure out why. Can you post the XML of this particular file?
in web browser in/on movie click the 3 dots then the GET INFO link.
bottom left of that pop up will be VIEW XML
Click that and it will display a page of information about that file.
Cut and paste it here OR better yet save it to a Text file and attach it here (either way).
This file DID play with no problems on the fire TV with direct play switched off and forcing a transcode, trying that on the Nvidia shield and it doesnt work. Strangely, the file did briefly play yesterday but doesn’t any longer.
Out of curiosity, if you figure out what the issue might be and it’s shareable that would be appreciated, I also appear to be having a similar issue.
Had just posted in the general Android player section as I figured that might be more specialized, but then saw this thread.
