Hi there.. when playing a downloaded episode it always sets to transcode. if I go directly to the downloads section and plays from there, plays right away. when playing from the download i can’t see it playing in my server and when finished (in the download again) it doesn’t mark it as watched on continue watching.
playback of downloaded items doesn’t currently update their watch state.
got it! thanks… now, how about when I play an item from my continue watching (that is downloaded) it shows on the server as streaming and transcoding, when i should play from the downloaded content
I think you can currently only initiate playback of a downloaded item from the Downloads section.
Is that the new expected behavior? the previous version work like that. you could start playback of a downloaded item from the continue watching.. there was even a little icon indicating the item was downloaded
For all I’ve seen, that’s currently missing.
The linked announcement doesn’t give an indication if starting playback of downloaded items from the library itself (and the indicator for downloaded items in the library) will return.
Sorry… I’m not having any additional insights in Plex’s roadmap/backlog for the new release.
